1st T-PLUS Roadshow event was held at the School of Foreign Languages on the dates of 19-20 December, 2016. Within the event, a two-day in-service training was given by the coordinators of T-PLUS, which is the first and only teachers’ professional development organization of Turkey, Asst. Prof. Dr. Bahar GUN, Beril AYMAN YUCEL and Asst. Prof. Dr. Kenan DIKILITAS. On the first day of the event, after a meeting with the School of Foreign Languages Administration, a workshop attended by all academic staff was organized. The importance of professional development and professional development units were emphasised in the workshop. Other issues emphasised were; ways to continuing professional development and how to apply these ways in our institution effectively. On the second day of the event, a three-session trainer education was given to the members of Teachers’ Professional Development Unit (TPDU). The contents of an effective professional development programme and how to apply this programme in our institution were focused in these sessions. Besides these, two different classrooms were observed by Bahar GUN and Beril AYMAN YUCEL. We are so glad to be home to the 1st T-PLUS Roadshow event at Bulent Ecevit University School of Foreign Languages.
